Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) noted that Indonesia`s imports in February 2011 reached 12 billion US dollars, a drop by 4.47 percent compared to 12.56 billion US dollars in a month earlier.

According to BPS chief Rusman Heriawan here Friday, the oil/gas imports in February 2011 dropped 13.85 percent to 2.56 billion US dollars and nonoil/gas imports declined 1.56 percent from a month earlier to 9.44 billion US dollars.

Rusman also said that the January-February 2011 imports increased 29.32 percent in last year`s same period to 24.56 billion US dollars, comprising oil and gas imports and nonoil/gas imports 19.02 billion US dollars.

According to BPS, in the January-February 2011 period oil and gas imports increased 38.91 pct from last year`s same period and nonoil/gas imports increased 6.77 percent.(*)
