Denpasar April 10 (ANTARA) - Australian Martin Eric Stephen,34, a life-long convict of 8.9 kg of heroin smuggling case to Bali, plans to get married in Kerobokan penitentary in Bali`s Kuta, the prison`s spokesman said.

"The wedding blessing of Martin marriage was scheduled to take place on Monday (April 11) at a church in the prison around 10:00 am local time," Siswanto, the Kerobokan prison warden said on Sunday.

The life-long convict had proposed to get married with Christine who is also an Australian. "Previously, Martin had applied for marrying Christine",

Siswanto said, adding that the former had sent a marriage proposal two months ago. Siswanto said, it would be the third wedding process to take place in Kerobokan penitentiary. Martin was arrested at April 17, 2005 at Bali`s airport along with eight other members of the Bali Nine, including Tan Duc Tanh, Mattew James Norman, and Michael William Czugaj who is also a convict for life.

Martin was sentenced to life imprisonment by Denpasar District Court on February 14, 2006 and upheld by the Denpasar High Court decision on April 27, 2006. The Supreme Court also rejected Martin`s appeal on September 6, 2006.

Other Martin colleague, namely Rena Lawrence was sentenced for 20 years in jail, but Myuran Sukumaran, Andrew Chan, and Schott Anthony Rush were sentenced to death.
