This conference is very important for infrastructure developmentJakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono inaugurated Indonesia International Infrastructure Conference and Exhibition (IICE) 2011 here Tuesday.
Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Suryo B Sulisto presented his report and was followed by a speech by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa.
Vice President Boediono, who arrived at 9 am local time, later gave an opening remark at 9.45 am local time.
"I express my appreciation for those spending time and energy to organize this conference. This conference is very important for infrastructure development," Vice President Boediono said.
After giving his remarks, Boediono visited several stands at the exhibition hall.
KADIN Chairman Suryo B Sulisto said the IICE is aimed at supporting the government in accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects.
"The Conference creates a forum between the government officials and investors in order to support Indonesian infrastructures," he said.
The Indonesian International Infrastructure Conference and Exhibition is a forum between the government officials and the private sector in a joint effort to develop sustainable infrastructure.
The IICE is the initiative of KADIN and supported by the Economic Affairs Coordinating Ministry, the National Development Planning Ministry/The National Development Planning Board, and the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).
KADIN has established a partnership with PT Infrastruktur Asia to organized the events during the next four years.
More than 800 delegations, 87 speakers and 13 moderators including ministers, governors and CEOs as well as infrastructure industry chairmen are to participate in the IICE 2011.
In addition to a number of meetings, the IICE is also highlighted with an exhibition being participated in by a number of infrastructure companies and supporting industries. (*)
