Head of Commission I of the House of Representatives in charge of foreign, defense, intelligence, communications and information, Mahfudz Siddiq said on Tuesday the team also discussed cooperation between the intelligence communities of Muslim countries especially on counter terrorism.
Mahfudz Siddiq also said through an international telecommunications that the Turkish intelligence agency (MIT) by way of Dr Hakan Fidan, responded enthusiastically to various ideas of the House commission I.
"The team also discussed several crucial subjects in the draft law on intelligence, especially with regard to the right to bugging, arrest, coordination and internal control" he said.
For bugging, MIT is required to obtain a permit from the Court in 60 days.
"In making arrests, MIT has no right," Mahmudz Siddiq said.
He also said that head of MIT can also coordinate the intelligence functions of various institutions.
"Like the military, police, prosecutor, and immigration, and others, while external control and accountability there is no special commission," he said.(*)
