"The cemetery will be opened for the public in October," the director of the Al-Azhar Memorial Garden, Nugroho Adi Wiwoho, said at the Al-Azhar mosque here on Saturday.
Nugroho said the cemetery is being laid out on around two hectares of land with a capacity of up to 29,000 burials.
He said Muslims could order land for one burial or a family package.
"The price will be known in July and as of the month the public could already place an order," he said.
Nugroho said the Al-Azhar Muslim Memorial Garden is located not far away from the San Diego Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Homes.
"The Al-Azhar cemetery is like a gold field or a park so that it does not look like cemeteries in general," he said.
Nugroho said after it was officially opened the Al-Azhar Memorial Garden would also receive bodies of Muslims already buried in other cemeteries wished to be moved there. (*)
