Jakarta (ANTARA News)- Two suspected terrorists were killed following a firefight with police anti-terror unit Densus 88 personnel in Solo, Central Java, early on Saturday.

"A firefight happened during the arrest of the two alleged terrorists wanted so far over bombings in Klaten (Central Java) on Jalan Pelajar Pejuang, Cemani, Solo at 01.15 hours on Saturday," National Police head of public information Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar said.

The two who were killed were Sigit Qurdowi and Hendro," he said.

"From them the police confiscated two FN handguns, one Baretta firearm, an active hand grenade and 100 FN bullets," he said.

The two were riding on a motorbike from a house in Cemani, Solo, in the direction of Densus 88 surveillance and enforcement teams. "Suddenly they turned around and were followed by the team. When the team tried to stop them Sigit Qurdowi fired the Densus members who then fired back at them," he said.

He said Sigit`s shot hit a food hawker named Nur Iman some meters from the scene while he was trying to get close to the scene.

"This made Nur Iman dead. The two terrorists were also killed to death on the scene," he said.

The two terrorists were involved in the church and Kliwon market bombings in December 2010 and were also involved in the terrorism in Cirebon recently and connected with four other terrorist suspects caught in Solo.

On Thursday (May 12) the police arrested four people allegedly involved in terrorism in Solo. They are Edi T alias Edi Jablay, Ari Budi alias Abas alias Irwan, Harid Buiarto alias Nobita and Aripin Haryono.

The police confiscated 183 nine millimeter caliber bullets and 381 5.56 4TJ caliber bullets from a raid in Haryanto`s house on Jalan Perkutut Banmati, Sukoharjo.

"They are caught following development of the case of suspects involved in the Cirebon bombing as suppliers of firearms and ammunition including grenades. Right now they are still being intensively interrogated by Densus," he said. (*)
