"The government`s performance is sometimes evaluated favorably, other times unfavorably by the people. It is a normal thing," he said when asked to comment on the results of the Indo Barometer survey released to the media on Sunday.
Anas said he had not yet read the results of the survey but it was not a problem to him.
He said the important thing was that the government continues to work hard to develop the country.
"Like the government, the Democrat Party also has to work harder when its performance is evaluated negatively," he said.
Anas said he would always heed suggestions from community groups that conduct surveys on the Democrat Party`s performance.
"We will always heed survey results and for the Democrat Party it is about how to continue to work hard, to continue consolidation. We believe the party still has the people`s trust," he said.
Indo Barometer in its recent survey found the index of performance of the government of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to be below 50 percent.
The index of public satisfaction about President Yudhoyono`s performance was 48.9 percent and about Vice President Boediono 36.1 percent.
The rating should be a warning for the government as it had tended to be stagnant since August 2010.
Public dissatisfaction was mostly about the economy (41.2 percent) and law enforcement (46.7 percent).
Dissatisfaction about the economy was caused mostly by unemployment in the country which was still high while dissatisfaction about law enforcement was caused by legal problems involving some Democrat Party members.
According to the survey results, 28.2 percent think present conditions were worse compared with before the reform era while 27.2 percent thought they had not changed and only 22.8 percent thought they were better.
Indo Barometer`s survey involved 1,200 respondents aged 17 years and above in 33 provinces from April 25 to May 4, 2011 based on a random sampling with a margin of error of around 3.0 percent with the rate of credibility at 95 percent. (*)
