"The dead body is still being subjected to an autopsy. We will facilitate her repatriation to her relatives as soon as possible," a Emil Harry Dewantara, embassy third secretary for services and protection of residents said Tuesday night.
Ruliyawati, 30, came from Patean sub-district, Kendal regency, worked in Singapore in 2007 and 2008 as housemaid.
The embassy, Emil said, had contacted PT Jasa Putra Jaya based in Central Java, which helped the employment of the woman at the Yang Yuan Yu family on the sixth floor of the 15-floor complex since July last year.
Blood stains a water tank on the floor leading to the roof of the complex, and some witnesses on the top floor who heard shouts in a heated quarrel in the morning hours, but the exact time of the victim`s death was still being established.
Unconfirmed reports said Ruliyawati was already dead when found in the water tank by the police at 10 am local time, but another version said she was declared dead at 1 pm local time.
Emil said at 7 am local time her employer was looking for Ruliyawati, and residents at that time were shocked as their tap water had become yellowish.
Some residents found blood stains on the stairs leading to the block`s roof and found the dead victim in the water tank, with a Bangladeshi man standing near the tank, Emil said.
Alerted police personnel arrived at the crime scene at 10 am local time, while in the meantime Singapore police arrested a Bangladeshi man, 27, the murder suspect.
Emil said investigations of the case are fully in the hands of the Singapore police while the Indonesian embassy closely followed the process up to the court.
Some time ago, he said, the victim`s employer had asked the block`s management to move a cleaning service employee of the block of who happened to be a Bangladeshi national.
The man, Emil said, was seen by several residents near the water tank in which Ruliyawati was found.
The residential block had eight water tanks.(*)
