The visit was a follow up of last year`s cooperation in holding a training course for Indonesian judges in Sudan, the Indonesian embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, said in a press statement here Thursday.
Last October 2010, seven Indonesian judges joined a three-week training course in Sudan.
Rum Nessa said Sudan was the right place for Indonesian judges to learn about economic syariah (Islamic laws) in particular.
To intensify the bilateral cooperation, the Indonesian Supreme Court and its Sudanese counterpart will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) next September.
The MOU among other things focuses on training courses on syariah for Indonesian judges.
"Sudan is known as a pioneer in the syariah field," he said.
Speaking before the Indonesian community in Khartoum, the MA secretary said Sudan has around 1,000 courts and 80 supreme justices, while Indonesia has about 800 courts and 51 supreme justices.
He said Sudan`s courts had the privilege to manage their budget without intervention by other institutions except the Supreme Court.
