Malang, E Java (ANTARA News) - Youth and Sports Minister Andi Mallarangeng said here on Thursday he was ready to talk with any group including Group 78 to ensure the success of the All Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) congress.

He said preparations had to be made well to ensure the success of the congress including facilitating all factions in PSSI as expected by FIFA.

"We have to make the preparations well because FIFA has given another opportunity for Indonesia to open a new page," he said when met to ask about the development of the issue at the Abdurahman Saleh airport.

Andi who was in Malang to attend a youth jamboree said approach and communications had to be made with all factions so that the congress could produce new PSSI executive board members.

He said the government would give support to and facilitate the implementation of the congress before June 30 in line with the FIFA decision.

In view of that he called on all football components in the country to use the opportunity well.

"We are grateful Indonesia has been given no sanction by FIFA and therefore we hope the next congress would be able to select the new chairman and deputy chairman of PSSI as well as other new executive board members," he said.

FIFA Executive Committee has decided if the PSSI problem could not be solved until June 30, the organization would automatically receive a sanction as of July 1.

FIFA has given a final opportunity until June 30 for the Normalization Committee to elect a PSSI new chief.

The congress meanwhile should be held based upon the earlier decision of FIFA banning four candidates to run for the PSSI chief and requiring the splintered league to return to the PSSI fold.

PSSI failed to elect its new leadership in the last congress due to the four candidates` insistence on being allowed to run for the post.(*)
