Cairo (ANTARA News) - Some 66 Indonesians, mostly students, currently taken shelter at the Indonesian embassy in San`a, Yemen, are reluctant to be evacuated to Indonesia although security in that country has been worsening.

"They were still reluctant to be evacuated to Indonesia in the hope the political and security situation in Yemen would soon improve," a press release of the Indonesian embassy in San`a received in Cairo said on Wednesday.

The Indonesian embassy on Wednesday in its fifth batch had evacuated 17 people comprising students and household maids on board Qatar Airways.

Actually the fifth batch evacuation was for 23 people, but seven of them could not leave Yaman because they still had to complete their studies.

The evacuation of the first to the fifth batches was conducted by buying tickets by the Indonesian embassy for passengers of commercial planes, like Qatar Airways, Airlines and Emirates Airlines.

The evacuation has the support of the central government in Jakarta in this case the Indonesian citizens and legal entity protection directorate, and the protocol and consular affairs Secretariat General of the Indonesian foreign ministry.

In the meantime, the Indonesian embassy has urged all Indonesians to leave the chaotic country as the security situation is growing increasingly inconducive.

"As fighting had broken out in many parts of the San`a capital and many other areas, the Indonesian embassy urged all Indonesians, especially those still in the capital, to immediately leave Yemen," a press release of the Indonesian embassy said.(*)
