Palu, Central Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Police in Central Sulawesi are now focusing their search on the mastermind of the attack on three police officers in Palu last month after catching four assailants killing two of them.

"Right now our focus in on the mastermind of the shooting incident and some others linked to it," chief of the Central Sulawesi Police Command, Brigadier General Dewa Parsana, said here on Monday.

The mastermind known by his initial as S is believed to be directly involved in the financing and planning of the attack on May 25.

S and some others who have been put in the wanted list are believed to be still in Central Sulawesi. The number of people in the list reaches more than 10, he said.

Parsana said that Poso is the base of terrorists in Central Sulawesi while Palu is a network area.

He said the terrorist group has ever conducted a war game in the border area between Poso and Morowali districts.

Based on information from those that have been caught the group plans to conduct robberies in a number of villages to collect funds for use in bigger terrorist activities.

The group also targets the police being stationed at vital objects such as banks to collect guns. "We continued making efforts to prevent that," he said.

Two police officers were killed in the attack at a bank in Palu while another officer had been wounded.

The police have so far arrested Hariyanto, Furqon and Ridwan who are all Poso residents.

The wives of Hariyanto and Ridwan are now still being intensively interrogated at the Poso resort police in connection with the incident.

Two other perpetrators namely Fauzan and Dayat were killed in a raid in Poso on Saturday (June 4).
