Polman, W Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - Director General for Administrative and Population Affairs of the Home Ministry claimed that the Online KTP (residency cards) system practiced in Indonesia is much better than a similar system in Malaysia which applying the system earlier.

Head of the Population Division of the Population Administrative Division of the home affairs ministry Murpi Sianturi said here on Monday that the online KTP system in Indonesia is more accurate than that applied in Malaysia.

He said in Indonesia examinations are conducted by examining one`s finger prints and eye retinas.

"In Malaysia they are examining only one`s finger prints," he said.

He admitted that the online system used in Indonesia was only recently applied in Indonesia, while in Malaysia they have already been doing it in the last ten years.(*)
