"The defendant is legally and convincingly found guilty of importing more than 5 grams of class I narcotics under article 113 sub-article 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 on narcotics," judge Istiningsih Rahayu said.
The court also fined the 39-year-old British national Rp1 billion.
Garcia was arrested at the city`s Ngurah Rai Airport on November 11 last year shortly after he disembarked from a Qatar Airways plane from Doha.
Customs and excise officers at the airport found him carrying 2,818 grams of shabu-shabu hidden in the hollow space on his suitcase.
