Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - A ship with palm oil on board which was believed to have sailed from Pamukan Selatan and Sampanahan sank in the Tanjung Dewa waters, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, on Wednesday, a speed boat operator said.

A speedboat operator, Farid, said on Thursday that he saw the ill-fated ship which had sunk in the waters. Only the roof of the ship was seen in the water surface.

"The sunken ship was carrying oil palm fruit clusters (TBS) which were expected to have been loaded in Tanjung Smalantakan but the ship sank in the Dewa waters yesterday," Farid said.

The oil palm fruits could have transported fro Tanjung Smalantakan to Keumpang Selatan region, but the ship sank on the way, he said.
