Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to inaugurate a private sector medical facility named Mochtar Riady Comprehensive Cancer Center (MRCCC) Siloam Semanggi here on Thursday.

After the inauguration, the head of state, accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, will tour the new premises of the new hospital established by Lippo Group, according to a press statement issued by the MRCCC.

Mochtar Riady, the owner of Lippo Group, lost his mother when she was only 40 years old due to dystocia, an abnormality in childbirth or labor. His father died at 60 due to stomach (gastric) cancer.

The MRCCC Siloam Semanggi was also set up to provide a domestic alternative to the increasing number of Indonesians who seek medical treatment abroad.

According to MRCCC data, around 600,000 Indonesians spend around Rp12 trillion on medical services overseas annually.

The MRCCC is committed to become an international standard hospital which prioritizes the safety and comfort of patients at affordable costs.

The new cancer hospital is also committed to serving people from all walks of life.

It will also cooperate with Pelita Harapan University`s Medical Faculty and the Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology to keep its medical technology up to date.
