"We also believe that the World Water Forum in Bali can become a historic milestone for Indonesia and Bali to play a strategic role in water management with local wisdom," he remarked.
The minister noted that the demand for flights to Bali surged ahead of the forum scheduled to take place on May 18-25, 2024.

The minister further said he would coordinate with the Ministry of Transportation to consider adding flights to Bali to accommodate the surge in demand.
Indonesia was chosen to host the 10th World Water Forum, themed "Water for Shared Prosperity," during the General Assembly of the World Water Council in Senegal in 2022.
The forum is an international meeting of stakeholders in the water resources sector, such as governments, parliaments, political leaders, multilateral institutions, politicians, academicians, civil society, and business players.
The upcoming forum will cover six sub-themes: water security and prosperity; water for humans and nature; disaster risk reduction and management; governance, cooperation, and hydro diplomacy; sustainable water finance; and knowledge and innovation.
