New Delhi (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - At least 31 people were killed and over 30 others injured when a fast speeding train crashed a bus in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh Thursday morning, local media reported.

The train, Chhapra Mathura express, reduced a fully packed bus with about 80 passengers to wreckage as the latter was carrying members of a marriage party near Kanshiram Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh, said the report.

The accident took place at around 02:00 a.m. local time at an unmanned railway crossing in Thanagaon, some 250 km from Lucknow, the state capital, the Indo-Asian News Service quoted government railway police inspector Dalveer Singh as saying.

All the injured have been admitted to hospitals and community health centers of Kanshiram Nagar and Etah districts. The majority of those injured are out of danger, according to the report.
