Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesian corruption suspect Nazaruddin remains elusive.

"He has not yet been caught," the spokesman of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Johan Budi, said here on Monday.

He made the statement when asked if the former ruling party`s treasurer had been caught after the police claimed they had already located him.

The chief of the National Police`s Criminal Investigation Department, Inspector General Sutarman, had said that the police had already found clues to Nazaruddin`s whereabouts but he would not as yet disclose to the public where the suspect was.

The police are reported to have also sent a team to the Philippines in search of him.

Law and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar meanwhile said the Directorate General of Information had obtained information that Nazaruddin was in Vietnam.

He said immigration director general Bambang Irawan heard from Singapore that Nazaruddin left the neighboring city state on June 20 for Vietnam.

The immigration office had also received information that the wanted suspect had also been in Malaysia.
