Samarimda (ANTARA News) - East Kalimantan provincial administration has given an appreciation in the form of a cup, charter and Rp10 million in cash to the married couple Hj Bachriah and H Abdul Wahab from Balikpapan, who had been declared this year`s Exemplary Family.

"We gave this appreciation so that other families in East Kalimantan would follow the example of building the right household as demonstrated by the married couple," East Kalimantan Deputy Governor Farid Wadjdy said in Samarinda on Sunday.

He also hoped the couple who had received the appreciation would even strengthen their harmony in building a family and later raising their children.

Then the exemplary married couples Hj Normalasari and H Rajudin Abdurrachman from Berau came in second, and Hj Noor Aini and PM Madda from West Kutai third.

On top of that, four things which will contribute to building a happy family, namely loyalty between husband and wife, religious, and good children, sound social environment, and sharing one`s good luck.

It is not so easy to attain such family. In that context the East Kalimantan provincial administration will this year give proper attention to problems facing resilient families, by allocating funds for procuring supplies and preparations of future married couples through the Women`s Empowerment and Family Planning for the time being still limited to Samarinda city.
