"We can be proud of this year`s exhibition because the event was such a succews that it can serve as a reference for automotive exhibitions in Southeast Asia," Jhony Darmawan, chairman of the exhibition`s orgnazing committee, said here Monday.
Duting the 10 days the show lasted, some 11,585 automotive units worth a total of Rp3,174,171,963,750.- were sold and some 322,823 people came to visit.
Jhony also said that increasing transaction in the exhibition is also part of the organizing committee`s priority target including the visitor number to be the biggest in the South Asia region.
Besides, the venue also was the biggest in the region as it was 63,654 square meters square whereas the area in 2010 was only 57.830 square meters.
Jhony said the 2011 IIMS venue was also wider than the Bangkok Motor Show and almost the same as the Tokyo Motor Show.
Previously in 2010, transactions at the motor show were only recorded at Rp2.5 trillion with 282.000 visitors.
The participation number from automotive industries for the 2011 event also increased from 22 brands and 181 participants in 2010 to 32 brands and 227 participants.
Otomotif Dyandra Promosindo Division Manager Lia Indriasari said the target to make 2011 IIMS as the center of the biggest automotive exhibition in Southeast Asia was also realized from improvements in the various lines of the exhibition.
Those improvements made ranged from booth arrangements, programs that are more diverse both entertaining and socially, and the addition of facilities at the event. (*)
