Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Bandung`s St Angela Choir is soon to leave for Japan to participate in Odawara city`s Children`s Choir Festival to be held August 7-10, a spokesperson said.

"We have been preparing ourselves thoroughly during the past one year and we are now ready to perform at the festival," Sister Irena, a representative of St Angela Choir`s founder, said here on Thursday at a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia Katori Yoshinori.

She said, in Japan, the choir consisting of St Angela Catholic School students of all levels would collaborate with members of the Odawara Young Girls Choir and Mulberry Chamber Choir.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Katori warmly welcomed St Angela Choir`s participation in the upcoming Odawara Children`s Choir Festival.

"I hope your visit to Japan will be a positive contribution to the efforts to establish people-to-people contacts between Indonesia and Japan," the ambassador said.

During their stay in Japan, members of St Angela Choir are also scheduled to meet the mayor of Odawara and perform at a concert in Odawara`s city hall.
