The four commissioners to be questioned by the KPK Ethics Committee are Busyro Muqoddas, Haryono Umar, Chandra M Hamzah and M Jasin.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Not only two but four members of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will be questioned in connection with a corruption suspect`s recent allegation, KPK Ethics Committee Chief Abdullah Hehamahua said.

If the Ethics Committee later also came to the conclusion it needed to question yet another KPK member who also sits on the Ethics Committee, namely Bibit Samat Riyanto, it would do so, Abdullah said here on Thursday.

The four KPK commissioners would be questioned following a statement by former ruling Democrat Party treasurer Nazaruddin, a suspect in a bribery case linked to the Sea Games athletes village project in Palembang, South Sumatra.

Nazaruddin said in his statement KPK commissioners Chandra Hamzah and Ade Raharja had held meetings with ruling Democrat Party chief Anas Urbaningrum to stop the investigation into the case.

The four commissioners to be questioned by the KPK Ethics Committee are Busyro Muqoddas, Haryono Umar, Chandra M Hamzah and M Jasin.

In its first meeting on Thursday, the Ethics Committee decided to meet again on Friday to set the schedule for the questioning of the four.

Hehamahua had earlier said the questioning would start on Tuesday next week (August 9).

The committee would seek the four KPK officials` clarification over Nazaruddin`s statement and plans to summon several other people to supplement its information.

The committee had decided to quizz the KPK officials in response to public pressure following Nazaruddin`s statement made from an undisclosed location.

Of the committee`s seven members, three are still linked to KPK, namely Abdullah Hehamahua, Bibit Samad Riyanto and Said Zainal Abidin. The other four are from outside KPK, namely Syafii Ma`arif, Nono Anwar Makarim, Marjono Reksodiputro and Sjahrudin Rasul.

Chandar M Hamzah and M Jasin had denied nazaruddin`s allegation while Ade Raharja and Johan Budi admitted that they had met with Nazaruddin but it happened early in 2010, long before the Sea Games athletes village project case emerged.(*)
