Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA News) - Soekarno-Hatta international airport security officers have arrested three South Koreans for carrying explosive materials without the required documents.

"We have arrested three South Koreans for carrying explosive materials," Salahudin Rafi, director of technical operations of airport management company PT Angkasa Pura II, said here on Monday.

He said the two South Korean men and one woman landed at Soekarno-Hatta international airport enroute to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, aboard a Lion Air f;ight.

Won Jeon Yeon (38), Leoeun Kyung (40) and Khan Jae Soon (41) earlier arrived from Incheon aboard a Korean Airlines aircraft.

When asked by an airport security regarding their baggage Leeoeun Kyung said that it contained equipment and materials for explosion simulation at a mining company in East Kalimantan. .

The South Koreans were caught by Bariyadi, a screening officer at departure Terminal I-B who was suspicious of their baggage contents after seeing them in an X-Ray screening.

After being manually checked it was found the baggage contained equipment packed in a special bag such as several detonators and ten kinds of wires and six kinds of high explosives. The goods were not covered by proper documents.
