Indonesian embassy staff official I Made Subagia when contacted from Jakarta Monday night said that under the regulations of Colombia he has only two working days to take care of a diplomatic note for Nazaruddin`s deportation.
"Thus since he (Nazaruddin) was taken into custody on Monday, we only have two days (until Wednesday) to issue the diplomatic note," he said.
Therefore, he said, he is now working hard and fast in issuing the diplomatic note.
While according to past experience, he said, he was able to issue a diplomatic note in two working days.
Made said he continued coordinating and working together with the foreign ministry to deport Nazaruddin.
"Right now we are waiting for a team from Jakarta," he said.
Nazaruddin was arrested by Interpol in Cartagena, Colombia, on Sunday at 2 am local time, or 2 pm Jakarta time.
He came to Colombia with a fake passport on behalf of M Syarifuddin. The picture on the passport is also a fake.
Nazaruddin is wanted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in a bribery case for the construction of an athlete`s dormitory in Jakabaring, Palembang, South Sumatra.
He was already in Singapore one day before the KPK asked the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on May 24, 2011, to prevent him from leaving the country.
The Police Headquarters has issued a red notice to arrest Nazaruddin and bring him home with the cooperation of Interpol. (*)
