Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The next ten years is the time for Indonesia to become an emerging economy as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono told based on a much higher income per capita and economic value.

For that purpose, Indonesia was actively participating in G20 to optimize cooperation in order to support the global economic recovery expected to also help boost the Indonesian economic development, the head of state said here on Tuesday when delivering his state address before the parliament.

The government continued ensuring that Indonesia's role in the international cooperation forum such as G20 was in line with the reform efforts in the country.

By participating actively in the G20 forum's financial working group, development working group and anti-corruption working group, the government wanted to create clean governance and fight corruption in accordance with the good governance principles.

In the G20 forum, Indonesia and other member countries have formulated strategies to deal with and anticipate the global crisis which could happen again.

"We have played an active role in contributing ideas for global economic order and solving global problems which could affect developing countries particularly in the food, energy and clean water security," he said.

Indonesia has always been active in fighting for the interests of developing countries in various international fora.

According to him, Indonesia and other developing nations have been voicing the needs for global architecture reform, including reform in the United Nations to have better justice and reflect the existing international reality.

The country also pursued to reform international monetary system to achieve a strong, balanced and sustainable global economic growth. (F001)
