Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Instant noodle maker PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur (ICBP) saw its consolidated sales in the first semester of 2011 grow 5.7 percent to Rp9.42 trillion from Rp8.92 trillion a year earlier.

The increase in consolidated sales was particularly fueled by growing sales at all divisions, ICBP President Director Antoni Salim said in a press statement on Wednesday.

"The instant noodle and dairy divisions continue to give the greatest contributions to net consolidated sales, reaching 68 percent and 19 percent respectively," he said.

The other three divisions, namely food seasoning, light food and nutrition and special food divisions contributed 4 percent, 6 percent and 3 percent respectively to the first-semester net consolidated sales, he said.

Under the company`s mid-yearly financial statement, gross profit rose slightly by 1.1 percent to Rp2.42 trillion from Rp2.40 trillion.

He said gross profit margin fell slightly to 25.7 percent from 26.9 percent due to an increase in the prices of raw materials. However, operating profit margin rose to 14 percent from 13.7 percent due in part to a drop in operating expenses.

He said the net profit that could be distributed among main entity holders increased 23.7 percent to Rp990 billion from Rp800.2 billion. Core profit jumped 26.4 percent to Rp994.6 billion from Rp786.7 billion.

He said the management of the company was pleased with the first-semester financial performance despite a steady increase in the prices of raw materials and global market upheavals.
