Bakauheni Port Administrator Syamsul Rizal said here on Sunday that the water current and winds around the port tended to increase at night which could disturb ships berthing at the piers.
He said that at night the winds blew stronger while the water level rose due to tides that posed difficulties for ferries to moor at the piers.
Syamsul said that ferry ships, particularly those at pier II faced difficulties to moor and to depart.
In the meantime, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysic Agency (BMKG) has predicted that the height of waves at Merak-Bakauheni waters on Sunday would reach between 03 and 1.25 meters.
