Jakarta, Sept 8 (ANTARA0 - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officers on Thursday searched some offices at the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry building here on Thursday for more evidence in their investigation of a bribery case.

KPK head of information and news reporting Priharsa Nugraha said investigators were seeking for more evidence at the office.

KPK is currently investigating I Nyoman Suisnaya, secratary of the ministry`s directorate general of transmigration area development supervision (P2KT), and Dadong Irbarelawan, the head of the P2KT`s reporting and program evaluation section.

KPK caught the two officials and also Dharnawati, a businesswiman of PT Alam Jaya Papua, recently for alleged bribery.

KPK had confiscated Rp1.5 billion worth cash kept in a fruit box believed to be a bribe given in exchange for the acceleration of the disbursement of Rp500 billion worth of funds for an Infrastructure Development Acceleration Program in the Transmigration Sector (PPID) project in 19 districts in Papua.

Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar meanwhile said he was ready to assume responsibility over the case.

"I am responsible with regard to proposing and safeguarding the project but the core problem must first be revealed," he said at a hearing at the House of Representatives here.

He said the Rp500 billion worth projects were to be implemented by the regions, adding that they were not handled by the manpower miniistry although the projects were located in transmigration areas.

"The project is a joint decision of the finance ministry and the House of Representatives` Budget Agency which also has members from the House Commission IX,"

He said among those receiving PPID funds were West Papua, South Sulawesi and others.(*)
