Sutanto appealed to the media not to pressure the BIN to unveil the process of investigation as it is very secret.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Chief of Indonesia`s State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Sutanto, said terrorism was now being carried out individually and therefore its handling was not easy.

He made the statement here on Monday before meeting with the House of Representatives` Security Commission I following a suicide bomber`s attack on a church in Solo, Central Java, Sunday morning.

Sutanto said the police were still investigating and chasing alleged parties involved with regard to arresting their network members.

He said the suicide bomber in Solo had already been identified. "He is connected with the suicide bomber in Cirebon (last April)," he said.

Sutanto appealed to the media not to pressure the BIN to unveil the process of investigation as it is very secret.

Asked on information from a foreign embassy about terrorist attack threats in Solo, Semarang and Jakarta Sutanto said that he he had never heard about it.

"I think the suicide bombing in Solo was a local action and would not affect other regions," he said. He said conditions in other regions are different.

"Please do not blow it up," he said.

Sutanto said terrorism did not only happen in Indonesia but also in other countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and others with their bigger number of victims.

He said terrorism in Indonesia had been handled well as has been proven by the handling of hundred terrorists so far.(*)
