He made the important statement in response to a statement of House Commission I member TB Hasanuddin that the Indonesian territory in West Kalimantan bordering with Malaysia had been reduced by 1,400 hectares in Camar Bulan and by 80.000 square meters in Tanjung Batu.
"Indonesia and Malaysia share a sear border in West Kalimantan. Right now the two governments are still having negotiations on the maritime area and Exclusive Economic Zone in the area. Further talks will be conducted on October 16 to 18," Michael said.
He underlined that the Indonesian government in every border talks always prioritizes its national interest and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). (*)
