Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Development of the Mandalika Resort area in Kuta, Pujut subdistrict, Central Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is expected to cost over US$3 billion, or about Rp27 trillion.

"Of the total, some US$250 million or about Rp2.2 trillion will come from state-owned firms (BUMNs)," Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa said in his report to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on the development of the Mandalika resort here on Friday.

President Yudhoyono officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the resort development project. He pressed a button that set off a siren after making his remarks on the occasion.

Hatta said that most of the funds to develop the tourist resort area would come from investor partners recruited by state-owned PT Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC).
