Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesia South East Asian Games Organizing Committee for Jakarta (INASOC DKI) has prepared two helicopters to support the implementation of the sports event on November 11-22, 2011, a committee member said.

Chairman of INASOC DKI Fadjar Panjaitan said here on Thursday that the helicopters would be used for emergency operations such as to transport athletes who got injured during the competition.

He said that the Jakarta areas were wide so that adequate transportation means were needed. There were many venues which were difficult to reach.

Panjaitan said that competition arenas which become the focus of health care treatment operations included Mount Pancar in Bogor and the road race arena which would finish at the gate of Tangkuban Perahu.

He said that air transportation would make it easy for transporting injured athletes to reference hospitals during the proceeding of the South East Asian Games (SEA Games).

"There are 34 reference hospitals of which 28 are located in Jakarta and six in West Java. All of them are now ready," he said.

The committee also is preparing hotel support for athletes and officials, among others 32 hotels, including those in West Java. It also provided security and personnel supports.

Personnel support consists of 665 liaison officers (LO), 2193 volunteers, 1025 workforce and 117 military members who also function as LOs.

For security, the committee also is preparing 10 thousand police personnel from the Jakarta Police and 1596 others from West Java.

Transportation means covered 746 vehicles and seven ships, 45 shuttle buses on 13 routes that are connected to the event venues.
