Palembang (ANTARA News) - Indonesian boxer Afdan Batila said he aimed to grab at least one bronze in the 26th SEA Games which is to be officially opened on Friday evening.

"That is our minimum target. But we will continue to struggle to grab a gold medal in the 26th SEA Games in Palembang," Batila`s coach, Din Jauhari said here on Friday.

Afdan would fight in the 64-kg class against Thai and Philippine boxers, he said.

"Although Afdan Batila will fight two opponents whose capabilities should not be underestimated, I am convinced he will do his best to grab a gold medal in the SEA Games," he said.

About 76 male and female boxers from 11 countries will compete in the SEA Games which will last from 14 to 21.

"I am optimistic that Afdan Batila will be able to make an achievement and contribute his best to the Indonesian nation and state in the international event," he said.

"We will do our best in Palembang to grab a gold medal. But we also need the support, including prayers, from the entire Indonesian people, particularly the Acehnese people," Din Jauhari said.
