Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Thai Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana watched a sepak takraw women`s team match between Thailand and Indonesia at the 26th SEA Games at the Jakabaring Sports Center here on Saturday.

The match ended with a 3-0 score in Thailand`s favor.

Cindy Cherin, a guide of the Thai women`s team, said the daughter of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej had come to give her support to her country`s team led by Team Manager Pairoj Archarungroj.

The princess was also expected to watch other matches at the SEA Games.

Princess Sirivannavari arrived in Palembang last November 10 and is scheduled to stay until November 14, 2011.

Thai Sepak Takraw Team Manager Pairoj Archarungroj said the presence of the princess at the SEA Games had boosted the spirit and confidence of Thai sepak takraw athletes.

"We are very proud that the Princess has come and watched the game from the beginning until the end, and our team won against Indonesia," he said.

Nine countries are participating in the sepak takraw competition during the 26th SEA Games being held at Sriwijaya Promotion Center, Palembang, from November 12 to 21, 2011 .(*)
