Kupang (ANTARA News) - The East Nusa Tenggara provincial capital of Kuang will get 6 Internet cars from the Communications and Information Department to open access to Internet services for the local community, a spokesman said here on Monday.

"The six internet cars will be sent to Kupang in January 2012, Kupang city Information and Communication Department spokesman Otniel Pello said.

He said the additional six internet cars were intended to facilitate the local community to access internet service to widen their horizon in terms of education, science, technology, and entertainment.

Pello said Kupang city would have seven internet cars following the arrival of the six additional ones in January next year.

According to him, the first internet car, equipped with six computer sets, was given to the city in 2009.

He said each of the six internet cars would also be equipped with six computers sets with internet network and other supporting instruments.

According to him, all general public including students at every area in the city would be free to used the facility at their disposal.

Pello expressed hope that with the additional internet cars, the people in Kupang would have easier, cheaper, and more quality internet access.

"It will be a new alternative for the people including the students in the city to have free internet access," Pello said.
