Palembang, South Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s Grand Master Susanto Megaranto (2537) bagged the first gold medal in the men`s standard of the26th Southeast Asian Games` chess competition here on Monday.

In the fifth or the final round held at Swarna Dwipa Hotel here, the Indonesian grand master recorded a seri score of 2234 with Mynamr`s rival Kyaw Lin Naing (2234).

The point was enough to bring a gold medal to the 24-year old Indonesian chess player, which was the first gold won in the chest competition of the SEA Games 2011.

Following is the provisional medal tally in the chess competition until afternoon on the 11th day of SEA Games 2011 on Monday (gold, silver, bronze, total):
