Islamabad (ANTARA/Xinhua-0ANA) - At least eight Pakistani security personnel were killed and four others injured when NATO gunship helicopters attacked a checkpost in Pakistan`s northwest tribal area of Mohmmand Agency which borders Afghanistan on Saturday morning, reported local state-owned TV channel PTV.

According to the report, an unknown number of NATO helicopters launched an air strike at the Salala checkpost in the Banezai village of Mohmman Agency which borders to the eastern side of Afghanistan.

Officials from Inter-Service Public Relations, a mouthpiece of Pakistan army, have confirmed the air strike, said local media Express.
