Bandung, West Java (ANTARA News) - A local residents` search team has found a body in the cockpit of the Cessna 172 PK belonging to PT Nusa Flying International that crashed in Mount Ciremai, Majalengka, West Java, recently.

"So, the team has reported there was a dead body in the cockpit. They could not tell whether it was the pilot`s or somebody else`s," West Java regional police spokesman Adjunct Senior Commissioner Martinus Sitompul told newsmen here on Monday evening.

Martinus said the plane`s wreckage was found at around 10am by residents of Argalingga village in Majalengka district. He said he had been assured that it was the Cessna 172 of PT Nusa Flying International.

He said until now the dead body in the plane`s cockpit had yet to be identified, adding the bodies of the plane`s two other passengers had yet to be found.

A search and rescue team from the West Java police`s Mobile Brigade would soon make its way to the crash site found by the local villagers.

Martinus said pictures of the wreckage had been sent to PT Nusa Flying International in Jakarta and company officials had confirmed it was the Cessna 172 PK-NPI lost on November 16, he said.(*)
