"The research is a comparative study of entrepreneurship learning model in Indonesian and Malaysian vocational schools," the State University of Yogyakarta`s research team chairman, Nahiyah Jaidi Faraz, said here Monday.
Nahiyah said that the comparative study is carried out by monitoring education system`s curriculum, evaluation system and tradition among the education units of the two countries.
The research will be carried out with a mixed research method, both qualitatively and quantitatively, he said.
"Data gathering methods used in the research include documents, interviews, observation and questionnaires, which are obtained in three different Indonesian vocational schools in Indonesia and two vocational schools in Malaysia," Nahiyah said.
Nahiyah said that the learning autonomy or decentralization applied in Indonesia is highly dependent on the creativity of the teachers in question. On the other hand, the role of the government to improve the quality and creativity of teachers is still lacking so that the learning varies widely.
Therefore, it is expected that Indonesian vocational schools must implement more practical methods, he said.
Nahiyah said that the practice is not only by sales but also design a business plan, execute, and evaluate the results according to the situation on the field.
"Under this method it is expected that vocational high school graduates have better practical skills," he said. (*)
