Said after attending implementation of cane policy meeting in Ministry of Industry office, Jakarta, Monday, those statements is his answer of cane export ban policy made by Trade Ministry.
"This policy is not ban-policy, but to increase value of our cane export," said Wiryawan.
Wiryawan added, Minister of Forestry, Minister of Industry, and Minister of Internal Affairs agreed to run this policy.
"They agreed and we set measures to support the policy," said Wiryawan.
The measures are including land rejuvenation and cane industry expansion out of Java.
"We have to stop Java-centric of cane industry," said Wiryawan.
He added this expansion should be supported by adequate infrastructures such as electricity and transportation of the destination .
Meanwhile, governors of Central Sulawesi, South-east Sulawesi, and Central Borneo which are cane-producing areas, said they support government rules of the cane export ban.
They said that 25 percent of world canes are from Indonesia, that is why Indonesia should be number one cane-industry exporter.
Governor of Central Sulawesi Longki Djanggola said that his region has been enforced rules of using cane furniture for all government and public offices.
"We have ordered 4 thousands units of cane chair and table for all school in Palu, Central Sulawesi, as pilot-project that would be done this mid-year," said Djanggola.
Djanggola, also general secretary of Indonesian Governors Association said other cane-producing areas have agreed to have the same rule.
