Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands (ANTARA News) - Lion Air moved its flying schedule forward at Raja Haji Fisabilillah airport in Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands, to Soekarno-Hatta airport, Jakarta, from 3.40 pm to 10.35 am local time.

"The changed flight schedule is effective on January 27, 2012," Air Port Manager of Lion Air in Tanjungpinang Handoko said in Tanjungpinang on Sunday.

Handoko said the flight schedule change applies only for the Tanjungpinang-Jakarta flight and the reverse.

Lion Air flies the Tanjungpinang-Jakarta route by Boeing 737-300 and Boeing 737-400.

The Tanjungpinang-Jakarta flight was opened by Lion Air from September 23, 2011, following Batavia Air and Sriwijaya Air which were first serving the people of the capital of Riau Islands province.

Handoko said the number of passengers of Lion Air on the Tanjungpinang-Jakarta flight ranged from 70 to 80 pct of the existing seating capacity.

"God willing, the number of passengers was quite good, often equal to the seating capacity," he said.

Handoko believed that the changed flight schedule would not affect the number of Lion Air passengers.(*)
