Bengkulu (ANTARA News) - An analyst of the Bengkulu Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has estimated that the sea waves in the West Indian Ocean in Bengkulu in the next 12 hours would be three meters high, while it has been 3.5 meters high earlier.

The sea waves in the Bengkulu and Enggano wasters reached a height of 2.5 meters, but it may always reach three meters, the BMKG analyst of the Meteorology station of Fatmawati Soekarno Bengkulu Suparwi said Sunday.

He said the winds in the West Indian Ocean in Bengkulu have been glowing from the west to the north at a speed of 5-20 knots, and the area may also have light rain.

And the wind in the Bengkulu waters have been blowing from southeast to northeast at a speed of 3-18 knots, and in the Enggano waters from the west to north at a speed of 5-18 knots.

The weather satellite shows clouds and rain in all of Sumatra, Malacca Strait and the Indian Ocean north of Aceh to the south of Java island.

The wind in Bengkulu is generally blowing from the west to southeast at a speed of 8 - 32 kilometers per hour or 5 - 18 knots.

The weather in Bengkulu may still have light rain in the afternoon through the night with the temperature from 23-31 degrees Celcius and humidity from 64-97 pct, he said.
