Biak (ANTARA News) - The waves in the Pacific Ocean north of Jayapura on Saturday morning reached a height of 2.5 to 4 meters, the meteorology agency said.

The Frans Kaisiepo Airport Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency BMKG) in Biak Numfor regency, northern part of Papua informed that the waves in the northern Papua waters in Manokwari reached a height of 2-3 meters and it is raining coupled with lightning and potential higher waves.

The weather in Biak is cloudy and raining in the afternoon, the night and toward the morning with a temperature of 24-30 degrees Celsius and humidity of 74-98 pct.

The waves in the waters north of Biak in the Pacific Ocean reached a height of 1.25 to 2 meters, but not higher than 3 meters.

It has also been informed that the waters north of Biak, Amamapare, Merauke, with rain and the wind is blowing at a speed of 5-20 knots/hour.

BMKG warned fisherman using small boats to stay alert when sailing in the waters north of Biak.

Up to Saturday at 7 am local time the weather in Biak and its surroundings is cloudy, but residents in Biak may work as usual.(*)
