Medan, North Sumatra (ANTARA News) - A moderate earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck Barus village in Central Tapanuli district on Friday at 1:28 p.m. Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB).

According to information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the quake was centered 43 kilometers west of Barus village at a depth of 10 kilometers.
