Banyumas, Central Java (ANTARA News) - About 3,000 people residing in three villages in Banyumas district were nearly cut off following a landslide that hit the area on Sunday, a source said.

"The mud from the landslide covers the right and left side of the road that connects three villages in the area, namely Pondoklaka, Buaran and Semaya. The landslide leaves only a two-meter wide space for vehicles to get through," a resident from Baseh village, Sukirno, said here on Monday.

Sukirno explained that the hills in the area are unstable and have been repaired several times.

He also expressed hope the local government would send workers to open the damaged road.
