"We cannot force our will in a renegotiation, but we have to find a meeting point which is fair for both sides," Hatta said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chief economic minister Hatta Rajasa has said that renegotiations on mining contracts with companies in the extractive industries will continue, based on the law in force.
"We cannot force our will in a renegotiation, but we have to find a meeting point which is fair for both sides," Hatta said here on Wednesday.
He pointed out that the government was now renegotiating mining contracts on related issues, such as royalty, share divestment, development of downstream industries, and land expansion.
"All of these are still in the process, handled by a team formed under the coordinating minister for economic affairs," Hatta noted.
He said that no mining company had objected so far to renegotiation of its mining contract, but he did not reveal how far the renegotiation process had gone.
"I cannot reveal it all, this is still in the process of negotiations," Hatta added.(*)
