Sudomo died at the age of 86, and some of the top-ranking mourners were former President BJ Habibie and former Vice President Try Sutrisno.
Soedomo passed away after several days of medical treatment at Pondok Indah Hospital for stroke and brain bleeding since last Saturday.
He was born in Malang, East Java, on Sept 20, 1926, and was also Navy Chief from 1969 to 1973, and Security and Order Restoration Command chief (Pangkopkamtib) from 1978 to 1983.
Sudomo was also known for dealing in domestic security disturbances often in special and unusual ways, even with the approval of then President Soeharto. In those days those playing a special role in Indonesia`s intelligence besides Sudomo, were LB Moerdani and Yoga Soegama.
Sudomo was also one-time head of Supreme Advisory Council (DPA).(*)
