So, it`s not true [that she is dead]," Agung Laksono said.Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih has been hospitalized at Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM), said Agung Laksono, Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare, here on Thursday.
"At around 8am today I visited her. She communicated well. So, it`s not true [that she is dead]," Agung said.
Earlier, Endang was wrongly reported to have died of illness at RSCM.
The Health Ministry in a press statement said that Endang had been hospitalized since Friday because she had body ache.
The RSCM could not confirm how long she was going to be treated at the state-owned hospital.
Appointed as the health minister in 2009, Endang was diagnosed of lung cancer in October 2010.
Over the past year and a half, she has been receiving medical treatment at home and overseas.
Currently, Endang is undergoing radiotherapy treatment, and her blood and metabolism condition is being monitored, to improve her body`s stamina.(*)
