"Today the team of investigators probed into an alleged corruption case by naming a new suspect, identified by initials of ASA, who acted as a person in charge of using the budget in 2006," said Adi Toegarisman, the head of the office`s law information centre, here on Monday.
The office has so far named five suspects in the case.
The other four suspects are identified by their initials of RNK, B, PS, and LWH. RNK was known as chief of the auction committee, B as a commitment-making official, and LHW as the president director of PT Berca Hardaya Perkasa.
Adi said ASA was named as a new suspect, based upon investigation order number 41, dated April 24, 2012.
"Today [the suspect] is scheduled to undergo questioning," he added.
The alleged graft case came to light after the State Audit Board (BPK) found irregularities, amounting to Rp12 billion, in the use of budget fund. The project in total cost Rp43 billion.
One of the irregularities was that the instrument procured did not match the specifications set in the initial contract.
Adi said the dossiers of three suspects B, PS, and LWH had been completed and sent to the indictment director of the office of the junior attorney general for special crimes. They will soon stand trial at an anti-corruption court. (*)
